Six years ago, as my husband and I were driving to Florida to spend the winter, a drunk driver hit us.  My husband was killed; I went against the windshield and had to have my leg amputated above the knee.  After about five weeks in the hospital, I returned to Rhode Island for rehab.  I knew nothing about prosthetics, and I didn’t know anyone who did, so I was relieved when my physical therapist introduced me to Mike.

I immediately liked Mike’s presence – he was genuinely friendly, not at all pushy, and went out of his way to explain things to me and make sure I was comfortable every step of the way.  After my stump healed, Mike came to my home and fitted me for my prosthesis.

Over the years, I’ve found Mike and the whole Nunnery staff very friendly and accommodating.  When I need to see Mike, he fits me in no matter what and is happy to schedule as many visits as I feel I need to get things just right.  If I’m down, Becky can hear it in my voice and asks how I am.  The whole staff has been very supportive and encouraging.

I may not be climbing mountains anymore, but at age 68, I do swim, walk, play golf and shuffleboard, and travel frequently.  I am also the pianist in my church now.  Mike’s expertise and Nunnery’s positive atmosphere have been a big part of letting me live the life I am allowed to live.
